You can tell about the living heritage, convey its beauty and significance with words, paints, or by capturing an especially expressive moment with photo lens. Captured images discover details, emotions, subtleties of skills that inspire, remain in memories.

On occasion of the celebration of International Day of Intangible Cultural Heritage, Ministry of Culture of Ukraine in partnership with Development Centre “Democracy through Culture”, NGO “Around Us.UA”, and Odesa Photo Association announced a photo contest with international participation “Living Heritage – a Portal to the Future”.

Authors from Ukraine and other countries were invited to submit their work to the photo contest about ICH elements inscribed on the International lists of UNESCO, or on the National Register of Ukraine, or non-inscribed anywhere but important for communities practicing them.

International jury of the photo contest will select the best (up to 10) works in each of three categories which will be presented at the exhibition within the frames of the International Conference “Education in ICH” on 16 October 2026 in Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv,
