Such was a slogan for a set of events and interesting meetings organized in Kyiv, on January 21-23, by EFFE Hub in Ukraine (Development Centre “Democracy through Culture”) with support by European Festival Association (EFA). The objective was to inform about EFA activities and new initiatives within the frames of the Project EFFE (Europe for Festivals, Festivals for Europe) for 2019-2020, inviting Ukrainian festivals take part.
EFFE Hub in Ukraine has invited on that occasion Rūta Prusevičienė, member of International Jury of EFFE, director general of the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society, director of the music festival “Vilnius Festival”.
The presentation of a new online resource, European Festival Finder, and the launch of application for the EFFE Label 2019-2020, was held on January 21, 2019, in the Ukrainian crisis media center. Rūta Prusevičienė has stressed upon the importance of EFFE Project opportunities which could help to promote Ukrainian culture through festival movement in the world. Three Ukrainian festivals – GogolFEST (Kyiv), Kinomedia (Kyiv) and Dobrynia Fest (Korosten’, Zhytomyr region) – have shared their experience and plans for the future.
On January 22 and 23, Rūta Prusevičienė has several creative and partnership meetings. One of them was in the Ukrainian cultural foundation where possibilities of grant support for festivals were discussed with the executive director, Yu. Fediv.
The meeting in the National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine with the director general, D. Ostapenko, was dedicated to EFA, EFFE Project, opportunities for collaboration between music festivals.
Creative partnership became the main topic during the meeting at the theatre DACH with the team of GogolFEST and its founder and leader, V. Troitsky.
