OUR ACTIVITY
The European Festival Association (EFA) is the umbrella organisation for festivals across Europe representing about 100 most eminent festivals in 40 countries.
EFFE was initiated by the European Festivals Association in 2014, co-financed by the European Union, to raise international recognition for festivals’ excellence in their daily work all across Europe granting them EFFE Label as a quality label for festival events. Also, it would present the most interesting and the most creative events connecting festivals committed to the equal will to encourage their visitors for considering about the world around.
Intangible cultural heritage (Intangible Cultural Heritage), defined in accordance with paragraph 1, Article 2 of the UNESCO Convention on the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Intangible cultural heritage is “the customs, forms of display and expression, knowledge and skills, and associated tools, objects, artefacts and cultural spaces that are recognized by communities, groups and in some cases individuals as part of their cultural heritage. This intangible cultural heritage, passed down from generation to generation, is constantly reproduced by communities and groups under the influence of their environment, their interaction with nature and their history, and forms in them a sense of identity and continuity, thus promoting respect for cultural diversity and human creativity."
